Description

Act as a strategic business partner, employee champion and organizational change agent for the business unit. Handle employee relations for business operations. Provide a wide range of support as the human resources (HR) function. Perform a variety of daily functions to support employee life cycle.



Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with business leaders during the strategic planning process to provide value-add support to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Analyzes workforce data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for organizational effectiveness and performance improvement.
  • Handles overall business unit employee relations and assigned employee investigations.
  • Provides coaching, counseling and career development guidance to business leaders and employees.
  • Provides input towards terminations and performance decisions for employees.
  • Designs presentations and conducts new employee orientation.
  • Conducts any required annual training for employees and leadership.
  • Understands operational goals and objectives of the business and shares knowledge with holding company HR partners to produce solutions that address business priorities.
  • Drives HR initiatives (e.g. engagement programs) within the business unit and acts as a liaison to holding company HR partners.
  • Assists in guiding and interpreting HR policies and procedures for business operations.
  • Assists in developing and recommending procedural improvements as needed by senior leadership 
  • Runs metrics, queries, and reports for business requirements.
  • Builds productive work relationships with business leaders, employees, and co-workers.
  • Works with business leaders on annual goal setting and quarterly reporting 
  • Conducts HR compliance audits, as needed.
  • Coordinates execution of information for new hires for the purpose of onboarding
  • Processes changes in HCM system such as employment status, terminations, suspensions, transfers, promotions, demotions, and corrective actions
  • Assists with ongoing personnel file and HCM system audits to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Maintains digital employee file
  • Assists in administering HR policies and procedures, including the corrective action process.
  • Responds to unemployment claims.
  • Assists with drug testing activities.
  • Work requires lifting objects up to 10 lbs.
  • Work requires day travel between employee locations (company fleet vehicle available).
  • Work may be performed in a variety of settings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and four (4) to six (6) years of progressive human resources experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of HR principles and processes, with a focus on employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Fundamental business acumen.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Excellent attention-to-detail.
  • Excellent written communication skills including the ability to develop training materials and procedural improvements.
  • Excellent oral communication skills to explain procedural improvements and employment matters.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to remain impartial to both employees and management when making recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain the highest-level of confidentiality of personal and sensitive data.
  • Ability to advise business leaders and employees including the ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships.
