Overview

Reporting directly to the Manager of Organizational Design and Leadership Effectiveness the Human Resources Business Partner role is to support Electric Boat leaders and their employees as it relates to employee performance, coaching, retention, and organizational effectiveness. This position will be responsible for providing functional expertise on employee and leadership development, performance management, coaching and organizational structure. Additionally, the HRBP role will be focused on retention strategies and best practices to promote a positive workplace environment and culture. 

 

In addition to the above Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions will also include:

 

Organization Effectiveness and Development

  • Facilitate a strong leadership and coaching culture to create a positive employee experience throughout the employment life cycle.
  • Drive employee engagement by proactively solicit and assess employee opinions, anticipate their needs and concerns, and recommend relevant solutions.
  • Managing leadership coaching and team building that support growth and change in line with business objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring the management team has the tools and training to handle employee conflicts between union and non-union members.
  • Facilitate employee development initiatives and training
  • Deployment of employee engagement strategies and delivery of metrics to business leaders

 Performance Management 

  • Provide coaching and consulting to business leaders on effective performance management interventions.
  • Provide advice and coaching to employees about their performance, development, or career growth.
  • Through the performance management system assure that performance goals are communicated, and annual job performance assessments are conducted.
  • Support the annual goal setting process, the annual assessment process, and periodic feedback sessions and development opportunities that strive to raise individual performance in the organization.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-15 years of HR experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance
  • Must be available for all shifts, including extended hours and weekends as business needs dictate

Preferred:

  • Degree in Business Administration, HR management, Labor Relations, Organizational Psychology, Political Science
  • Experience in organizational development and structure
  • Strong data and analytics skills
  • Experience in people practices such as goal setting, performance evaluation, and improvement planning in a business setting

  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including metrics and reporting
