POSITION SUMMARY 

The Human Resources Business Partner (entry level) is an early-career HR professional role responsible for delivering a welcoming onboarding experience, maintaining accurate HR systems and records, and supporting culture-building initiatives and events across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, coordination, and creating strong first impressions, while building a long-term career in human resources within a value-driven, high-growth community bank. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

Onboarding & Associate Experience 

  • Coordinate and deliver a warm, organized, and engaging onboarding experience for all new team members. 
  • Manage new hire orientation logistics, schedules, materials, and communications. 
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR team members to ensure new hires feel prepared, supported, and connected from day one and throughout the associate lifecycle. 
  • Coordinate and support the Southern First summer internship program, ensuring a meaningful and well-organized experience for interns. 

HR Systems & Administration 

  • Maintain accurate associate data within the HRIS, including new hires, job changes, and personal information updates. 
  • Run standard HR reports and assist with data requests as needed. 
  • Support audits, system updates, and HR process improvements, gaining exposure to the “why” behind HR operations. 
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential HR records in compliance with company policies and regulations. 

Culture & Team Support 

  • Serve as a friendly and knowledgeable first point of contact for basic HR-related questions. 
  • Support associate engagement initiatives, internal communications, and team events. 
  • Assist the HR team in recognizing and supporting team members during key life events, celebrations, and moments when care and connection matter most. 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field highly preferred. 
  • Internship experience or 1–2 years of experience in HR or a related administrative role preferred. 

Skills & Competencies 

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Comfort working with systems, data, and technology; HRIS experience is a plus. 
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Positive, team-first mindset with a genuine spirit of hospitality. 
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality. 
  • Curiosity, coachability, and a desire to continuously learn and improve.

 WORK CONDITIONS 

  • Role is fully in-office at the corporate headquarters in Greenville, SC (not remote and not hybrid).  
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment which includes sitting, standing, and working on computers for extended periods of time.   
  • Work may occasionally require evening work with very limited travel, if any.
