The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) at DIRTT partners with business leaders to design and execute HR strategies that drive Human Resources management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. Acting as a trusted and confidential advisor, this role embeds HR strategy into daily operations, supports business units, and ensures Human Resources/HR practices align with organizational goals and culture.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary advisor for assigned business units on Talent/HR matters, providing timely, professional guidance to managers and employees.
- Deliver full-cycle advisory support across recruitment and retention, onboarding and offboarding, organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, talent development, compensation and benefits, and succession planning.
- Partner with leaders and teams to develop day-to-day HR solutions that enable business objectives.
- Collaborate with leadership and other HR functions to ensure workforce needs are anticipated and appropriately resourced.
- Provide expertise in policy interpretation, employee relations, immigration, health & safety, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Lead or support HR projects that advance strategic priorities and continuous improvement, including research, data analysis, reporting, and presentation delivery.
- Advocate for fair and accurate performance management practices, ensuring development plans are meaningful and actionable.
- Drive continuous process improvements to support business growth and enhance the employee experience.
- Maintain HRIS (UKG) data integrity through updates, audits, and reporting.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources Business Partner or similar advisory role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- CPHR designation (or working toward certification) strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR legislation and best practices, with exposure to both Canadian and U.S. employment standards considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Disability Management (STD, LTD, WCB) and return-to-work programs.
- Experience advising on and administering diverse compensation structures, including short-term incentive plans (STIP), long-term incentive plans (LTIP), and commission programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in policy interpretation, employee relations, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to influence and coach business leaders, fostering trusted relationships across teams.
- High level of discretion, sound judgment, and sensitivity when handling confidential information.
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills considered an asset.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms (including ATS and core HR modules).
