Position Overview:

The HR Business Partner provides strategic advice and direction to internal Retail Sales clients on the West Coast, supporting key business initiatives and ensuring maximum organizational effectiveness.  This individual will also assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining human resource strategies, programs and policies. The role requires a combination of broad-based HR knowledge / experience involving all phases of the employee life cycle and general management experience in a corporate setting.

 

This is a great opportunity for an HR Generalist to move up to HRBP. Mortgage industry is highly preferred. 

Must be able to work Pacific Time to support West Coast employees. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Provide sound advice and consultation to respective client groups (Retail Sales) in key HR areas such as performance management, HR policies and procedures, employee relations, compensation and training and development.
  • Consult with managers and employees to proactively address employee relations issues.
  • Coach and guide managers through employee performance issues and general employee issues. Partner with managers to determine next steps for problem employees (e.g. Performance plans, demotions, termination, compensation changes)
  • Analyze data (sales performance, turnover metrics, compensation, etc.) and provide guidance based on findings to client groups.
  • Partner with management in workforce planning, skills assessment and succession planning.
  • Participate in decisions for identifying high-potential employees and establishing their development strategies.
  • Consult with management in establishing approaches to enhance/reward individual or team performance.
  • Provide guidance and counsel on individual growth and development plans.
  • Serve as a member of the change management team during large-scale organizational changes.
  • Design, implement and deliver training on a variety of HR topics as needed.
  • Participate in organizational meetings and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with HR related federal, state and local laws and regulations to minimize company exposure to liability.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • HR knowledge: broad knowledge of HR functional disciplines (e.g. organizational development, talent management, employee relations, compensation / benefits, training, and management / employee development).
  • Business knowledge: understanding of business / financial fundamentals.
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources; bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal, state and local laws relating to HR; PHR / SPHR Certification preferred.
  • Ability to establish rapport and credibility with all levels of the Business Unit in order to be a trusted advisor.
  • Ability to be an effective listener and problem-solver of people issues.
  • Ability to serve as spokesperson and role model for ethics and corporate values.
  • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to thrive in a matrix environment (accountability to HR function and BU management).
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of product; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced fluid environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality required.

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

This role operates in an ADA compliant office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial stationary positions and moving throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.

 

Compensation:
CMG pays a competitive base which ranges from $70,000 - $80,000. Factors that affect base salary may include Human Resources experience, compensation experience, overall knowledge of mortgage industry, number of years worked in mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience specific to working with mortgage lenders, and education.
