Summary of Role:
The Human Resources Coordinator plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to administer and perform human resource functions in accordance with current employment laws. Administers company policies, processes and procedures while ensuring quality records and confidentiality of importation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations to all current and future employees.
- Coordinates and administers the new hire processes to include Applicant Tracking System management, background check administration, ensure state requirements are met and employment verification though I-9s.
- Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
- Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns with Regional Human Resources Director.
- Reporting management for state survey requirements, training purposes, time management, etc.
- Assists with employee benefits administration as it relates to life event changes.
- Coordinates employee department transfers, position changes and status changes, and ensures in-service requirements are updated and completed.
- Reviews and administers all employee leave of absence requests in accordance with Federal, State, and Company policies.
- Collaborates with department heads and Recruiter in posting requisitions for job openings.
- Assists Legal Counsel in document preparation for legal matters such as state and federal charges, discovery requests, etc.
- Maintains all current legally required labor law postings annually.
- Provide requested employee records during state audits.
- Provides guidance and counsel to employees and management regarding work questions, policies and procedures.
- Ensures employee records are maintained in compliance with all state and federal laws.
- Meet all federal and state in-service requirements.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience:
- Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- A minimum, one (1) year of experience in Human Resources and related laws surrounding.
- Healthcare or Senior Living experience preferred (Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing).
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory requirements.
Physical Demands:
Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
Physical Requirements - The Physical activities of this position involve:
- Moves or lifts material’s weighing up to 35 pounds (i.e. standard size bankers box of paper)
- Stationary position - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Alternating between standing and sitting
Cognitive Requirements - The Cognitive activities with or without prosthetics of this position are:
- Executes tasks independently
- Understand human resources principles, practices and procedures
