The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for performing various human resources functions at Mactac's Spartanburg manufacturing plant, including administering policies and programs as well as maintaining records and documentation. This individual also researches and analyzes data in relation to statistics/metrics, projects, and strategic initiatives and assists all employees by providing information and answers to HR-related questions. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator assists with other HR related duties as requested.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring personal and workforce awareness of and adherence to all corporate and site Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies & procedures.
- Providing guidance to employees related to all major benefit programs including medical, prescription, dental, life insurance, dependent life insurance, LTD, 401(k), workers' compensation, unemployment claims, wellness, employee activities, etc.
- Providing leadership and support through the annual benefits open enrollment process.
- Managing the data integrity of employee changes in the UKG HRIS system such as transfers, job changes, promotions, demotions, terminations, pay increases, etc. and obtaining the proper approval for such changes.
- Assisting in the recruitment and retention of all employees.
- Managing, under the guidance of the HR Manager, the recruitment needs at the facility for all hourly positions.
- Supporting the HR Manager and Talent Acquisition with any requested needs for salary recruitment, as necessary.
- Supporting the site's continuous improvement plans in an effort to retain employees and to become an employer of choice in the region.
- Providing proactive support to employees and leaders, serving as an employee advocate, and responding timely to employee inquiries on things such as employee relations concerns, or questions seeking clarification on benefits or in relation to HR policies and procedures.
- Under the supervision of the HR Manager, working with managers and supervisors regarding employee matters surrounding organizational and compensation changes, including job description review, job changes, promotions, performance management, salary planning, training etc.
- Providing leadership, support and continuous improvement for Mactac's approach to hiring and onboarding for hourly/salary positions; including enhancing our strategies for sourcing, interviewing, candidate selection, and new hire orientation.
- Championing wellness initiatives and promotions throughout the facility.
- With the partnership and leadership of the HR Manager, developing or facilitating the development of training materials, tools, and activities using various media to support the department in achieving business goals.
- Delivering training to individuals and/or departments as necessary.
- Maintaining all site employment records, including training records from various functions.
- Performing research and analysis on specific projects or statistics in relation to strategic initiatives.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding HR, talent, recruitment, and employee information.
- Performing additional duties as identified with the HR Manager and/or HR team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 3 years prior HR experience is required.
- Prior HR experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is desirable.
- Prior experience utilizing HRIS/HCM systems is required. Experience utilizing UKG preferred.
- Prior payroll administration and talent acquisition experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, sound judgment, and problem‑solving ability.
- Resilient, self‑motivated, and able to maintain a positive, can‑do attitude.
- Ensures confidentiality of all HR and payroll records.
