Join our Team as a Human Resources Coordinator We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator who is passionate about people, organization, and creating a positive workplace experience. In this position, you’ll be at the heart of our HR operations, supporting everything from benefits administration and recruitment coordination to employee relations and compliance. As a trusted resource for employees, you’ll help ensure HR processes run smoothly, accurately, and in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to grow within the HR field.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a primary contact for employee questions regarding benefits and HR programs.
Coordinate and administer employee benefits, retirement plans, insurance renewals, and required filings
Process benefits enrollment, changes, workers’ compensation, and bi-weekly pre-payroll reports.
Distribute benefits communications and assist with financial reporting and audits.
Maintain and update the employee handbook.
Support recruitment, including candidate coordination, interviews, and communications.
Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including system setup and documentation.
Maintain employee records and support performance management processes.
Assist with compensation analysis and coordinate training and development programs.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including Affirmative Action and FLSA.
Maintain workplace safety programs and required certifications/reporting
Support initiatives that promote employee engagement and a positive workplace culture.
Collaborate with the Abdo HR team to support company-wide HR initiatives and best practices.
Assist with project-related administrative tasks, including MnDOT documentation and billing support.
Coordinate internal communications such as the company newsletter.
Provide backup support for administrative and accounting functions.
Assist other departments as needed and perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
1–3 years of HR experience benefits administration, payroll support, or administrative coordination.
Experience using an HRIS and ATS.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
Understanding of applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Knowledge of common HR practices and principles related to the employee life cycle.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, documentation, and recordkeeping.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general office systems.
Willingness to learn and adapt, including working with external partners
