Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator supports the Human Resources department by managing daily administrative tasks, coordinating recruitment activities, assisting with onboarding, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and helps facilitate a positive workplace environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate full-cycle onboarding processes, including offer letters, background checks, new hire documentation, and orientation scheduling
  • Maintain and administer employee data within HRIS, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data integrity
  • Facilitate and support new hire orientation sessions
  • Process personnel changes including promotions, transfers, compensation updates, and terminations within HRIS
  • Maintain employee personnel files in compliance with federal, state, and company requirements
  • Assist with open enrollment, employee engagement initiatives, and HR projects
  • Participate in HR audits to ensure policy and procedural compliance
  • Maintain compliance with I-9 documentation and E-Verify requirements
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements including drug screens, background checks, and employment verifications
  • Assist recruiters with general recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate coordination, interview scheduling, and pre-employment processing
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures


Qualifications

Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as an HR Coordinator or similar HR support role
  • Hands-on experience working within BambooHR & Workday HRIS (data entry, reporting, transactions, and employee
  • Experience supporting onboarding, benefits administration, and employee data management

Preferred:

  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or multi-state workforce environments
  • Experience supporting a workforce of 300+ employees


    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong proficiency in BambooHR & Workday HRIS reporting and transactions
    • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

    • Position requires regular in-person attendance at the main corporate office five (5) days per week.
    • Ability to travel periodically to other Lighthouse Electric business locations, field offices, and job sites as needed.
    • Ability to attend and support job fairs, recruiting events, workforce outreach initiatives, and community engagement activities as required.
