Job Description:

The Judicial Branch is a state-funded Branch of Government that offers medical/dental/vision, $20,000 free basic life insurance, state-matched 156% retirement plan, 13 paid holidays, earned paid vacation and sick leave, and more.

This classification level is responsible for coordinating district human resources activities such as resolving hiring and disciplinary issues, recruitment, screening, selections, and evaluation of all district office staff. Responsibilities may include: administering and overseeing training programs to ensure compliance with state regulations; implementing state proper allocation of staff within Districts, oversight of training plans and compliance; preparing, maintaining employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software; interpreting and explaining human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.


 

Job Duties

1. Coordinates the hiring, training and discipline of staff in accordance with the State policies and procedures.

2. Assesses and applies existing policies, contracts or regulations, and researches past practices or established procedures to ensure appropriate administrative actions in accordance with area of assignment. 

3. Reviews complex transaction processing and provides recommendations for the handling and disposition of personnel actions and issues.

4. Responds to employee and applicant inquiries providing general information and guidance related to pertinent policies and procedures.

5. Reviews and verifies compliance with established processes and procedures.

6. Administers and maintains data management systems and program documentation.

7. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. The above classification responsibilities represent only the key areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the business needs of the department.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and 2 years human resources or related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Knowledge:

  • Computers and related software applications;
  • Customer service principles;
  • Human resources principles and practices in assigned area of responsibility;
  • Human Resource terminology;
  • Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes;
  • Mathematical principles;
  • Analytical methods.

Skills:

  • Using computers and related software applications;
  • Preparing reports;
  • Providing customer service;
  • Interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory changes;
  • Maintaining confidentiality;
  • Analyzing processes and making recommendations for improvement;
  • Gathering, interpreting, and presenting data in clear and concise formats;
  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
