General Description

Will be responsible for preparing all aspects and wide range of the human resources field to include but not limited to the following: track employees' hours for various types of leave such as, FMLA, LOA, PLOA, Workers' Compensation, and work restrictions related to ADA. Track work restrictions/maintaining and submission of back-up documentation. Prepare or assist in preparing with all aspects of donated leave requests, forms, tracking, etc. Assist with recruiting initiatives, job fairs, career fairs, etc. Print paystubs out of OASIS (as needed). Review Employee Incident Reports and follow-up with employees and supervisors. Assisting with maintaining accurate human resources records, preparing, or assisting in preparing related documents and transactions (resign, retire, dismissed). Enter or assist in entering work hours, status changes and new employee information and prepare for payroll processing and timekeeping for all employees. Other duties may include prepare and review forms for human resources, payroll and related areas. Position may require overtime and some weekend work to ensure agency/bureau policies are met. Experience with WVOASIS is preferred. Will perform related duties as required and assigned by the Human Resources Director. Selected applicants must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and a breath analysis drug screening. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable causes, as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check. Minimum Qualifications

Education: 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

None.

Internal Applicants Only:

One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as an Human Resources Administrative Assistant.

Substitution Information: Additional education and experience may be substituted based on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.

William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital, located in Weston, West Virginia, is a 200-bed acute psychiatric care facility owned and operated by the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities. William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital holds accreditation from The Joint Commission and certification by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). The hospital offers a wide range of services to patients either committed to the hospital through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system. Through ongoing collaboration with West Virginia University’s Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, a variety of medical and clinical professionals partner with the hospital’s own staff to work diligently with patients to achieve a smooth transition back to the community after discharge.
