Position Summary
The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department. The HR Coordinator should display remarkable conflict management and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of employee relationships, staffing management, and payroll and benefits administration. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Required Qualifications
Duties/Responsibilities: · Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. · Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files. · Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management. · Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks. · Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records. · Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. · Provides clerical support to the HR department. · May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks. · Conducts or assists with new hire orientation. · Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations. · Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR. · Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions. · Files documents into appropriate employee files. · Assists or prepares correspondence as requested. · Prepares new-employee files. · Processes mail. · Assists with processing of terminations. · Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Sense of urgency with the ability to multitask under pressure. · Comfortable with multitasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance. · Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. · Time management expertise to endure tasks are completed in a timely manner throughout the day. · Results driven, persistent-able to self-direct and work independently showing initiative, while seeking guidance when appropriate. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. · Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system ( HRIS ), and similar computer applications. Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. · Prior related office experience preferred.
Work Schedule
M-F with occasional evenings and weekends
