The Role: The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in providing HR and Safety support to employees and management, ensuring the effective implementation of HR and Safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Location(s): Salinas, CA; Hollister, CA; Oxnard, CA; Huron, CA; Yuma, CA
Areas of Responsibility:
- Build strong positive relationships with employees, supervisors, and managersensuring consistent presence and support.
- Communicate and guide the application of human resources and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct new employee orientations, including compliance training, developmental training, and policy updates.
- Participate in developing human resources and safety training content and materials and deliver training to employees.
- Stays attuned to organizational and operational changes across the company to identify potential employee relations risks and develop plans to address them proactively.
- Supports labor recruitment, including internal and external job postings.
- Participate in training managers and supervisors on state and federal employment law, best employee relations practices, and strategies for maintaining a positive and compliant work environment.
- Conduct investigations, ensuring the highest level of confidentiality and implementing appropriate action and accountability practices.
- Utilize a fair and inclusive process appropriate for employee concerns, including ensuring consistency in the application and enforcement of policies and procedures.
- Lead incident investigations of workplace accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Keep accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents.
- Prepare investigative reports, recommend corrective action, analyze data, and record findings.
- Assist various departments with the transition of the workforce between geographic areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- Three or more years of experience working in the human resources field.
- At least two years of experience in employee relations and compliance.
- Certification as PHR or SPHR is a plus.

- Must be bilingual, bi-literate in English/Spanish
- Travel and temporarily relocate to our different harvest areas.
- Familiarity with the H-2A Guest Worker program is a plus.
- Availability after hours and on weekends.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
