Job Title: HR Generalist – Multi-Site (Tenn Tex Plastics and Pan American)
Reports to: Director HR – Marmon Fastener Company (MFC)
Location: Multi-site (Tenn Tex Plastics and Pan American); travel required between sites
Position Summary
The HR Generalist – Multi-Site (Tenn Tex Plastics and Pan American) provides comprehensive, hands-on HR support across multiple manufacturing locations. This role partners with site leadership to execute core HR processes, ensure policy and legal compliance, and deliver consistent employee experience across the full employee lifecycle.
The position supports recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, benefits and leave coordination, performance documentation, and HR reporting. The HR Generalist ensures disciplined execution of standard work, maintains audit-ready HR documentation, and escalates complex issues appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration and Employee Lifecycle Support
- Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned sites, supporting hourly and salaried employee populations.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable employment laws and ensure HR practices, documentation, and reporting remain compliant.
- Maintain HR records including hires, promotions, transfers, pay changes, attendance-related documentation (as applicable), performance documentation, and terminations.
- Provide guidance to employees and leaders regarding policies, procedures, and HR programs; escalate complex issues as needed.
- Prepare separation documentation and conduct exit interviews to identify trends and opportunities for retention improvement.
- Ensure personnel files and HR documentation are maintained with confidentiality, accuracy, and audit readiness.
Recruiting, Hiring, and Onboarding
- Partner with site leaders to execute recruiting and staffing plans, primarily for hourly roles and critical site needs.
- Manage job postings, candidate coordination, interview scheduling, and offer/acceptance processes in accordance with company standards.
- Coordinate onboarding activities, new hire orientations, and required compliance training.
Employee Relations and Workplace Practices
- Support employee relations matters including investigations, corrective action documentation, and conflict resolution in partnership with site leadership.
- Coach supervisors on consistent application of policies, documentation standards, and respectful workplace expectations.
- Support engagement and retention initiatives and participate in employee communications as needed.
Benefits and Leave Administration Support
- Support benefits enrollment changes, eligibility documentation, and employee inquiries in coordination with corporate/shared services.
- Coordinate leave of absence processes, documentation, and return-to-work requirements in compliance with policy and law.
- Support workers’ compensation and return-to-work coordination as applicable.
HR Reporting, Audits, and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain HR metrics and reporting as assigned (staffing, turnover, attendance trends, training compliance, etc.).
- Support HR-related audits and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes across sites and implement standard work and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred OR equivalent combination of education and HR experience.
- 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience; multi-site and/or manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals, employee relations, recruiting, and HR documentation standards.
- Proficiency with HRIS/timekeeping systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel between Tenn Tex Plastics and Pan American locations on a routine basis.
