WestLand is adding a friendly and resourceful Human Resources Generalist to our Pacific Northwest team! The Human Resources Generalist supports a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding, compliance, HR operations, and workplace safety programs and policies. This role will serve as a key resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies and processes while ensuring a high level of service and operational excellence. This is a hybrid position that requires approximately 15% travel to support other locations, meetings, and HR/Safety initiatives. This position will be based out of our Pacific Northwest offices (Gig Harbor, Mukilteo, Portland, or Mount Vernon).
What will I be doing?
- Support and administer employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee status changes.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on established HR policies, procedures, and programs, and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Support HRIS data integrity to include employee records and documentation.
- Support, lead, or escalate employee relations matters as appropriate including documentation, investigations, and resolution.
- Coordinate and support recruitment efforts, including job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate screening and communication.
- Support the benefits center of excellence, including enrollments, communication, and employee inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.
- Oversee HR trackers and databases, ensuring data integrity and prompt follow-up on outstanding items.
- Support employee development initiatives and training programs
- Coordinate and support change efforts, including developing and coordinating communication strategies to support organizational initiatives and HR programs.
- Support workplace safety programs and initiatives, including coordinating safety-related records, assisting with reporting, and reinforcing compliance with company safety policies
What qualifications are required for this role?
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required (Equivalent combination of education and experience considered).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of labor and employment laws required; Pacific Northwest region knowledge preferred.
- Experience supporting and administering workplace safety programs required; working knowledge of Pacific Northwest safety regulations preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-state workforce preferred.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification a plus. Strong knowledge of HR practices and relevant employment, payroll and labor laws.
- Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to responsive, employee-focused support.
- Experience with systems including Vantagepoint, ADP, and recruiting platforms preferred.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
