Our HR team is seeking a proactive HR Generalist to help manage the daily operations of Human Resources, ensuring employees receive the support they need and that compliance requirements are met with excellence. Beyond the day-to-day, we're also looking for someone eager to help shape company culture through HR initiatives, strengthen leadership by training managers on policies and procedures, build on employee engagement strategies, and support the overall wellbeing of our employees.
The Role
The HR Generalist is the execution backbone of the HR department. This role manages day-to-day administration of HR programs, provides frontline employee support, and ensures smooth HR processes across recruitment, benefits, compliance, and engagement initiatives. Reporting directly to the HR Supervisor, this role is hands-on and central to maintaining a positive and efficient workplace. In addition to core HR responsibilities, the HR Generalist will play a key role in fostering a strong workplace culture, equipping leaders with tools and training to manage effectively, and helping to drive engagement and wellbeing across the organization.
What You'll Do
As an HR Generalist, you will:
- Administer recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
- Process benefit enrollments, changes, and open enrollment activities.
- Administer leave programs (FMLA and other leaves), ensuring compliance and timely communication.
- Communicate payroll changes related to hires, promotions, terminations and benefit changes.
- Be a first point of contact for HR questions, employee relations, and documentation.
- Collect and maintain HR data and compliance records to assist with ACA, OSHA, EEOC reporting and other HR metric requests.
- Track performance evaluations and provide logistical support for performance improvement plans.
- Support leaders in the corrective action process and performance management processes.
- Partner with leaders to provide training on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Assist in developing and supporting employee engagement strategies, culture initiatives, and wellbeing programs.
- Assist with training coordination, employee engagement, recognition events, and HR communications.
- Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and prepare HR reports and trackers.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance HR workflows.
- Support continuous improvement throughout HR and the company.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2-4 years of HR experience required.
- General knowledge of HR practices, procedures, and employment law.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Professional HR Certification or interest in attaining Professional HR certification preferred.
Work Schedule & Environment
- Office-based, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Optional rotating compressed schedule: one Friday off every two weeks.
- Occasional travel for training or meetings.
