As our business is growing, we are eagerly looking to add a dedicated HR Generalist to our team. This HR professional will support a broad range of human resources activities including recruiting, employee relations, HR administration, compliance, and HR program implementation. The position works on defined tasks under guidance, applies established procedures, and builds collaborative relationships across the organization.

This position reports to the President and CEO of Penn E&R with guidance/oversight from Penn Color’s Vice President of Human Resources. The position will be located at our Pittsburgh Office with work from home on Monday/Friday if desired as performance allows.

Main Responsibilities:

HR Generalist Support

• Assist in a variety of HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, and compliance support.

• Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers, escalating complex issues as appropriate.

• Support implementation of HR programs, policies, and initiatives.

Recruitment & Talent Support

• Screen resumes and employment applications.

• Coordinate interviews and may participate in candidate interviews.

• Support hiring documentation, onboarding processes, and new employee orientation activities.

Employee Relations & Support

• Provide guidance to employees on routine work-related questions or concerns.

• Assist with employee relations matters, including documentation and follow-up actions.

• May participate in termination meetings and exit interviews, providing feedback to management.

• Assist with updating HR policies, employee handbooks, benefit materials, and job descriptions.

HR Projects - Misc

• Support Benefit enrollment process, performance management processes, and other HR initiatives.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and human resource practices.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office tools preferred.

Education and Experience:

• BS Degree in HR or HR certificate
