HR Professional

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides tactical HR support to manufacturing managers and employees and implements programs/policies/processes.
  • Develops relationships with internal business managers/supervisors to partner in decision-making and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrates leadership in employee relations. Responsible for coaching managers and employees to continuously improve performance.
  • Implements and administers HR programs and processes, including staffing, performance management, training and development, and employee relations.
  • Coordinates the employment of hourly employees to include the job posting process, interviewing, and screening.
  • Assists in talent acquisition and the recruitment process.
  • Conducts employee orientation, assists with onboarding, and help plan training with Workforce Development.
  • Ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Administers the hourly employee performance management program which includes annual evaluation and disciplinary processes.
  • Maintains employee records and documentation to meet Vallourec Standard Operating Procedures, HR’s Standard Operating Procedures, Federal, State, and Local compliance requirements. 
  • Supports other HR functions as needed.

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Solid knowledge of federal and state employment / labor laws.
  • Experience in union avoidance in a large hourly workforce environment.
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • A change agent who can implement new programs in a fast-paced growth environment.
  • Personable and professional in dealing with employees, corporate management, and cross functional corporate departments.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business, or comparable field.
  • 2+ years exempt level HR experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, GPHR certification is preferred.
