CO-Energy is growing and we need a full-time Human Resources Generalist to support that growth. 


For almost 39 years, CO-Energy (A Connell Oil, Inc. company) has been a leading provider of fuels and lubricants to commercial, agricultural and government customers across the Pacific Northwest.  As our customer base grows, we need to expand the HR team to provide excellent support to our internal customers - our valued employees.

Based at our Pasco corporate office, the HR Generalist will support the HR Manager as well as provide some limited support to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).  Standard work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.  Some overtime might occasionally be required in order to meet deadlines and customer needs.


Essential Tasks, Duties and Functions:

  • Service as the front-line HR contact for CO-Energy employees;
  • Assist employees with routine payroll, timekeeping and benefits related questions;
  • Handle sensitive employee information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion;
  • Support recruiting, hiring and onboarding processes;
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical employee files;
  • Track cyclical government compliance regulations;
  • Other tasks as assigned to support the corporate administration group


Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years of general human resources work experience, or an Associates degree in a relevant course of study in lieu of work experience;
  • At least two (2) years of customer (internal and/or external) service experience; 
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g, MS office Suite or equivalent)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of general human resources work experience, or a Bachelors degree in a relevant course of study in lieu of work experience;
  • SHRM or HRCI professional certification;
  • Direct experience with HRIS and payroll systems

  • Ability to present a supportive and professional image to both internal and external customers;
  • Strong time management and problem solving skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Typical office environment with prolonged periods or sitting, computer use and telephone interaction;
  • Occasional lifting of office materials (up to 20 pounds)


Compensation:

  • Hourly pay range of $28 to $32;
  • Annual performance bonus and hourly rate increases
  • Paid holidays - seven (7) per year;
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) - 128 hours per year, accrued at the rate of about 10 hours per month;
