Avalon International Aluminum is looking for a self-motivated, punctual, professional, and solution-focused individual that can perform a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced facility with a relaxed, informal work environment where integrity and performance with a mix of good humor are paramount.

We are looking for a full-time Human Resources Generalist. Experience is highly preferred but those with transferable skills instead of experience will be considered. The ideal candidate is computer savvy, detail-focused, personable, empathetic, and knows how to manage and initiate difficult conversations. Fluent Spanish-speaking and writing is a big plus.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Manage and reorganize personnel documentation.
  • Manage the full cycle recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing phone screenings, scheduling interviews, issuing employment agreements, guiding successful candidates through onboarding, and doing new hire check ins.
  • Create and update HR-related documents and policies.
  • Implement and update offboarding surveys, exit interviews, and stay interviews to collect data that may help in retention efforts.
  • Approve timecards and manage payroll biweekly.
  • Manage employee benefits and registration.
  • Organize and lead the safety committee, making sure to meet all OSHA compliance requirements as well as improve safety standards in the warehouse as a whole.
  • Create and implement employee training documents and systems.
  • Manage time off requests.
  • Manage employee relations including counseling and wage negotiations.
  • Respond to unemployment claims.

Required experience:

  • 1+ years HR experience
  • 1+ years in manufacturing-related health and safety
