Broad Function and Purpose of Position:
This position provides support to a wide variety of Human Resource Generalist duties, including policies, practices, and programs to support recruitment, onboarding, time and attendance, HRIS systems, and safety. The ideal candidate should be competent in handling different human resources responsibilities and have sufficient professional experience, along with strong communication abilities.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist with the full life cycle recruiting for positions in partnership with respective managers.
- Prepare and post internal & external job postings via our ATS tool.
- Prepare and place employment advertisements; contact recruitment agencies or other sources of labor supplies, screen resumes, schedule and conduct interviews, and manage the process
- Conduct reference checks and coordinate physicals, prepare offer letters.
- Onboard new employees via our HRIS system and conduct new hire orientation.
- Ensure vacations or other time off are recorded in ADP and are according to policy.
- Work with all departments on company culture and engagement initiatives, including internal communication, recognition and celebrations, succession planning, and internal promotions.
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions according to HR objectives.
- Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data.
- Actively participate in the Sika SAFE Program.
- Display active leadership in advancing the Sika SAFE culture in Marion.
- Administer plant absenteeism program, including time and attendance database.
- Develop and conduct HRIS training for end users including employees, managers, and HR staff.
- Make recommendations to improve engagement and retention of workforce.
- Prepare and analyze required HR reports related to staffing, turnover, etc., as needed.
- Reinforce the company policies, rules, and procedures to ensure employees’ safety.
- Oversee employee labor and HR federal laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations as needed.
- Other HR projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience/Education:
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of Human Resource experience, including strong HRIS experience
- Prior experience with an ATS, SmartRecruiters, a plus
- Candidate should be detail-oriented and have exceptional multitasking, organization, prioritization, and planning skills.
- Ability to hold confidential and sensitive information with the utmost integrity.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of customer service skills
- Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Ability to handle multiple projects.
