Job Description:
Orbitalum North America, an ITW company, is seeking an HR Generalist. In this role you will be responsible for a variety of HR functional areas, be the trusted advisor for both managers and employees and play a key part in shaping the employee experience by leading day-to-day HR operations. You will ensure processes run smoothly, employee matters are handled thoughtfully, and leaders have the support they need to manage their teams effectively.
Orbitalum’s orbital welding power supplies enable precise, repeatable GTAW/TIG welds with full data recording for quality control and process optimization. Designed for high-purity applications, these systems feature an intuitive interface, automated weld program management, and advanced gas control to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance weld integrity. Our SmartWelder and MobileWelder Plus software streamline operations with auto-detection, real-time adjustments, and seamless data logging, ensuring consistent, high-quality welds with minimal heat-affected zones.
What you will do and impact:
Employee Relations and Development
- Counsel managers and employees on a wide variety of work-related activities, policies, and procedures such as employee relations, talent planning and management, career development, performance management, compensation and benefits and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Partner with managers to proactively identify issues and provide tailored solutions to meet business goals.
- Assess departmental employee engagement levels and assist in the development of action plans to ensure a positive, engaging, and supportive workplace.
- Assist with the administration and communication of performance, compensation and talent management processes.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
- Drive talent acquisition and onboarding processes.
- Interview and recommend candidates for hire.
- Coordinate the job offer and pre-employment processes.
- Lead new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a strong start for employees.
HR Policy and Administration
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and reporting requirements.
- Support managers and employees with payroll-related questions and act as the payroll liaison, maintain HRIS records in Workday, and support Leave of Absence.
- Ensure consistency in the interpretation, communication, application, and administration of HR policies and procedures, in close collaboration with Divisional HR in Europe.
- Utilize technology to streamline process improvements and delivery of HR services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years previous experience in an HR Generalist role.
Skills & Capabilities
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices and experience in a broad range of HR processes, such as recruiting, compensation and talent management.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and remain effective under pressure.
- Show initiative to identify issues and provide effective solutions.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with HRIS systems, ideally Workday.
- Continuous improvement mindset with initiative to identify and implement process enhancements.
- Minimal travel.
Compensation Information:
60.000-80.000 USD
