Position Full Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day transactions and policy administration to all phases of the employee life cycle. This will include administering the full employment process for employees, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, administering benefits, maintaining employee files & data, writing and interpreting policies and procedures, processing payroll data, administering FMLA, maintaining job descriptions, partnering with supervisors and managers regarding employee relations issues and general routine reporting. The HR Generalist is expected to communicate status on process with colleagues, keep team members informed, and responds clearly to employee inquiries; demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude in working with all levels within the organization; and use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information. This position will be based in Clearwater.

Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities:
Human Resources Management
- Demonstrates an understanding of and provides overall HR administration and support of HR programs in the areas of staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training and health & safety. Partners with operations to promote and adhere to all safety and quality related policies and procedures.
- Functions as an advisor to management and employees regarding the application (interpretation & application) of employment laws and HR programs, policies, processes and
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the HR functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance with the laws and regulations.
- Continuous improvement with HR processes.
Employee Relations
- Fosters strong employee relations culture through training & coaching managers and employees on topics including performance management, benefits, wellness, safety, harassment, and business policy guidelines.
- Provides coaching and support to managers/supervisors in solving employee relation issues, such as disciplinary action, attendance, performance issues, etc.
- Prepares and fosters positive employee communication through all employee meetings and publications to employees.
- Supports and coordinates employee events, recognition programs, awards, activities, etc.
- Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.
Performance Management
- Coordinates and support leadership & employee training on HR related topics and documenting training efforts. Gathers feedback and provides recommendations as needed to improve programs.
- Supports the talent management processes and succession plans. Coaches and mentors individuals through the career development plan process that promotes employee development and engagement.
Staffing / Workforce Planning
- Manage the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of all plant personnel, working with the supervisors/managers to include the selection, performance, and evaluation of third-party vendors and temporary agencies.
- Create a positive first experience of the company and serves as a role model for our values.
- Maintains employee information and personnel files, kiosks, position descriptions and employee bulletin boards.
- Offering community outreach to involve T.O. Plastics, Inc. in events to increase our involvement and brand recognition awareness.
- Supporting HR department and managers in identifying vacancies and developing staffing plans.
Compensation & Benefits
- Assist in maintaining the HR/Payroll system, prepare appropriate paperwork to enter information into the system, create and generate reports.

Education, Experience, & Skills:

- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or similar field and 3+ years of related experience.
- HR certification or strong working knowledge of all areas related to Human Resources.
- Good business acumen and the ability to solve problems from more than just an HR perspective.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to drive to results and hold self-accountable.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills; demonstrates good listening skills; able to communicate status on process with colleagues, keep team members informed, and responds clearly to employee inquiries.
- Independent and organized work style: Effectively manage time and prioritize workload, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision, and consistently meet deadlines. Independent, self-starter, quick learner.

- This position does require periodic walking trips through the manufacturing facility where decibel levels are considered noisy, but safe (personal protective equipment provided as required).
