The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for supporting day-to-day HR activities, fostering a positive working environment, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and helping with various HR programs and policies. This role is integral in supporting HR strategies, addressing employee concerns, and promoting a culture of teamwork and growth. This role is broad and encompasses several key areas of HR including employee relations, compliance, compensation and benefits, performance management, HRIS proficiency, and other employee services. The HR Generalist follows the lifecycle of employees from onboarding to offboarding.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and conflict resolution with regard to employee relations issues.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through team-building activities and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and regulations related to HR and employee rights.
  • Maintain records of employment, benefits, and other confidential employee information in compliance with legal standards.
  • Assist in performance review processes, including goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement plans.
  • Support managers in addressing employee performance issues and provide coaching or guidance as needed.
  • Support the administration of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Assist employees with inquiries about payroll, health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefit offerings.
  • Maintain HR databases and employee records.
  • Prepare HR-related reports, including turnover, headcount, and other reports for management review.
  • Support employee wellness initiatives and ensure a safe and healthy work environment through the SIS Live Well program. Manage an annual wellness budget.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives such as the SIS Cares philanthropy program.
  • Stay updated on HR trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of experience in an HR generalist role or similar HR function.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) specifically UKG
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Prior experience working with compensation tools to formulate career levels and salary bands
  • This position is hybrid and will be in the Alpharetta, GA location at a minimum of 3 days per week.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced or growing organization.
