Position Summary:

The HR Generalist will provide comprehensive human resources support across multiple functions, with a strong focus on full cycle recruiting and organizational staffing. This role will partner with HR Business Partners (HRBP), corporate Centers of Excellence (COEs), and local business units to ensure seamless HR operations and compliance. The HR Generalist will also assist the Head of HR with strategic and administrative tasks as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • HR Support & Administration 40%
    • Complete employment verifications and maintain accurate employee records.
    • Support HRBP with new hire orientation and onboarding, including coordination of essential technology, systems access, credit card setup, and related resources.
    • Assist with new hire orientation and ensure smooth integration into the organization.
    • Collaborate with corporate COEs and local departments to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
    • Support HRBP in managing onboarding logistics and documentation
  • Recruitment & Staffing – 30%
    • Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
    • Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical roles.
    • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and deliver qualified candidates.

 

  • Employee & Labor Relations – 20%
    • Support with administration of collective bargaining agreements and ensure compliance with union requirements.
    • Assist HRBPs with employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
    • Maintain positive working relationships with union representatives and employees.
  • Additional Support – 10%
    • Provide assistance to Head of HR with special projects and initiatives as needed.
    • Act as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, programs, and best practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience); OR
  • Five (5) years’ experience in the HR field; OR any appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a unionized environment and working with collective bargaining agreements is preferred. 
  • Construction industry experience is preferred. 
  • Professional in Human Resources certification (SHRM/PHR) is preferred.
