We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team. The ideal candidate will support a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, payroll processing, data entry, and compliance. The successful candidate will have at least three years of broad-based business experience engaging in all or most of the functional areas of Human Resources within a manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:
Supports employee relations by addressing concerns, assisting with conflict resolution, and promoting a positive work environment.
Create disciplinary documents and issues them in alignment with the Head of HR and Plant Manager.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Assists with the recruitment and interview process including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
Tracks candidate background checks, drug screen status, and responds with follow-up emails.
Conducts new hire orientation and completes Form I-9 and E-Verify to maintain compliance.
Serves as the liaison between the payroll department and employees to process paperwork for all employee changes, new hires, terminations, change in title, pay, department, etc.
Completes employment verifications.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Assists with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
Process and respond in a timely manner to Unemployment Insurance and Worker’s Compensation claims.
Serves as the point of contact for all leave inquiries, including FMLA, short-term disability, and other medical or personal leave types. Tracks and monitors leave balances, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting.
Conducts exit interviews and process terminations.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
Makes photocopies, sends mail, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
Collaborates with the Plant and Safety Managers and is comfortable in a blue-collar setting interacting with employees on the plant manufacturing floor.
Serves as Secretary in the Safety Committee, supports workplace safety programs and helps maintain a safe, inclusive work environment.
Participates in HR-related audits, reporting, and special projects as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in human resources, with knowledge of HR laws, practices, and procedures.
Must be bilingual, English/Spanish
Experience in payroll and data entry strongly preferred.
Proficiency with ADP payroll software or related HRIS system.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
On-site office environment with a typical workday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday – Friday. Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required.
