Are you a versatile and detail-oriented HR professional looking to make a meaningful impact? The Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support agency-wide human resources functions and contribute to a positive, productive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, and selection support.
  • Review applications, assess qualifications, and collaborate with hiring managers throughout the hiring cycle.
  • Manage exit processes, including exit interviews, offboarding, and resignation communications.
  • Guide managers and supervisors on personnel policies and disciplinary procedures.
  • Conduct HR investigations, recommend appropriate actions, and collaborate with County HR and Legal Departments as needed.
  • Provide supervisory oversight to staff responsible for payroll and HR administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate workforce data and prepare information for performance management, reporting, and board updates.

Skills & Abilities

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years and six months of experience in personnel administration in a technical or administrative capacity involving the development of proposed policies and procedures and the application and interpretation of policies and procedures in at least one program area assigned to the position; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
