Job Summary/Description:  

Gray Media is seeking an HR Generalist in Atlanta. This position is responsible for the workflow of employee life cycle events, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, and terminations. The ability to manage multiple processes at one time, strong organizational skills, and critical thinking skills are essential.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Support station Office Managers in the workflow of employee life cycle events, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, and terminations
• Partner with the stations' Office Managers and General Managers
• Track, monitor, and respond to Department of Labor reporting, Occupational injury reports, and EEO reporting requests
• Process background screenings such as MVRs and substance screening
• Assist with Benefits Wellness activities/projects as needed
• Keep up-to-date on new developments and regulations in the Human Resources field, such as changes to FLSA, state, and I-9 laws
• Filing and maintenance of personnel information
• Support recruiting activities

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 1-2 years of human resources experience as an HR Generalist or HR Specialist with both exempt and non-exempt employees
• An understanding of human resources, management, and business best practices
• Able to commit to a high level of confidentiality
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with managers and employees, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to produce results in a rapidly changing environment and demonstrate initiative and follow-through with a strong attention to detail
• Must have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, to be flexible, to work well with many interruptions, and manage multiple responsibilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook ( experience with creating reports and creating formulas in Excel preferred)
• Able to commit to a hybrid work schedule (4 days or more in office each week)
