POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department in a growing organization and assists in the administration of a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll support, compliance, and HR systems management. This role partners with employees, supervisors, and leadership to help maintain efficient HR processes, support organizational growth, and ensure a positive employee experience while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies and employment regulations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support daily HR operations and provide administrative and operational assistance to the HR Director.
  • Support recruitment activities, including job postings, applicant tracking, interview coordination, onboarding processes, and recruitment marketing efforts such as job fairs, community outreach, and online recruitment strategies.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and support employee onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation within HR systems.
  • Support benefits administration, leave tracking, open enrollment, and employee benefit inquiries.
  • Assist with payroll processing, attendance tracking, and related workforce administration functions.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs, escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Support the implementation and administration of HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Generate reports, maintain HR records, and assist with audits and compliance documentation as needed.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and support HR system updates and maintenance.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Working knowledge of HR practices, employment regulations, and HR systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms; BambooHR experience preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of progressive HR experience highly desired, with exposure to recruitment, HRIS systems, benefits administration, or payroll support. Experience in a fast-paced or growth-oriented environment a plus.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or related certification highly preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
