HR Professional

Winpak Portion Packaging is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources Department based out of Chicago South Suburbs on a full-time onsite schedule. In this role, you will support a wide range of HR functions that directly impact employee experience, workplace culture, and organizational success. You will partner with leaders and employees across multiple departments to deliver effective HR strategies that support a safe, inclusive, and engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Engagement & Onboarding

  • Coordinate onboarding for New Hires through 1st ninety days.
  • Contribute to a welcoming and effective onboarding experience for all new hires.
  • Continuously improve onboarding processes to enhance engagement and retention.

Employee & Labor Relations

  • Address employee concerns professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Participate in investigations of workplace issues, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution.
  • Promote a respectful and inclusive environment through active conflict resolution.

Learning & Development

  • Coordinate training initiatives from L&D team and track progress.
  • Conduct bi-week HR Orientation Onboarding.

HR Policies & Operations

  • Provide day-to-day support to employees and people leaders on HR-related inquiries and concerns.

Performance & Talent Management

  • Support managers with performance reviews, goal setting, and development plans.
  • Coach leaders through performance-related concerns while promoting fairness and accountability.
  • Tracking and administer performance review support to people leaders.

Employee Wellness & Disability Support

  • Encourage participation in wellness initiatives and employee benefits programs.
  • Support disability case management, including return-to-work accommodation and planning.

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate employee records and generate reports as required.
  • Support HR operations with data and insight to guide decision-making.

Special Projects & Collaboration

  • Support company-wide HR initiatives and cross-functional projects.
  • Promote teamwork and strong internal communication across departments.
  • Other duties and projects assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education and 3+ years in HR Role (manufacturing preferred).
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized self-starter able to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to change.
  • Professional, discreet, and comfortable supporting a multi-shift workforce.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; HCM experience (UKG preferred).
  • Skilled in facilitating training, meetings, and group discussions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting HR programs in a manufacturing organization.
  • Experience with HR data reporting or analytics.
  • Exposure to disability management, wellness programs, or employee engagement initiatives.

Additional Details

This position is full-time onsite.
Schedule includes support for multi-shift operations, with quarterly evening requirements.

Compensation Range

The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. The range is $65k-$85k. Actual pay will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
