Description: We are seeking an adaptable Human Resources (HR) Generalist to serve as the sole HR professional for our organization of approximately 28 employees. This role will own and manage core HR functions while partnering closely with leadership to support employees, ensure compliance, and foster a positive and effective workplace culture.
Primary Duties:
Manage full‑cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, offer coordination, and onboarding
Lead onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive and consistent employee experience
Administer employee benefits programs and serve as a point of contact for employee questions
Maintain employee records, HR systems, and documentation throughout the employee lifecycle
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook materials
Partner with leadership on workforce planning, employee engagement initiatives, employee recognition programs, and continuous improvement of HR processes
Assist with company social media initiatives, including drafting content and supporting employer branding efforts
Support recruiting and outreach activities by representing the company at job fairs and networking events
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, including coaching, conflict resolution, workplace concerns, and performance management support
Coach leaders on employee conversations, documentation, corrective action, and compliance‑aligned people practices
Support and coordinate workplace investigations as needed, in partnership with leadership and external resources when appropriate
Support company internal and operational initiatives and coordinate with managers, accounting, security, and IT points of contact
Location: Hybrid in Lexington Park, MD (2 days a week required on-site)
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple HR functions
Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
Experience with recruiting and onboarding
Experience coaching leaders and handling sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion
Knowledge of employee relations and employment law compliance
Education and Experience:
Minimum of two years of experience in HR; DoD experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Compensation and Benefits: Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $98,000.
