Position: HR Generalist
Pay: $21.92 - $28.00/hour
Location: Getzville, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 37.5 hrs./week

Your Impact as an HR Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of a variety of tasks and projects. This includes both individual projects and projects in cooperation with each of the other members of the Human Resources department.
1. Assist with day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department
- Ensure employees follow policies and procedures
- Perform administrative duties as needed
- Perform routine tasks required to assist senior leaders
- Perform assigned duties using independent judgment
2. Benefits Support
- Processing Accident and Injury Reports, Creating First Reports of Injury for First Aid and Workers Compensation claims. Creating and maintaining other records as needed for open First Aid or Workers Compensation Claims
- Process employee benefits enrollments and terminations
- COBRA administration
- Assist with annual open enrollment
- Create monthly 401k enrollment files
3. Employee Relations Support
- Assist with discussion logs, warnings; terminations, disputes, investigations; and orientation as needed.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in meetings, for various programs including but not limited to Summit Academy, OPWDD, Discovery Kids.
4. Regulatory compliance
- Conduct pre-employment screenings in compliance with FCRA, Article 23-A, Justice Center and other regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain records and ensure compliance for OCFS and EI as needed to include background checks, and Employee Medical Physicals and TB tests
5. Recruitment and Onboarding Support
- Assist with recruitment process from opening a requisition through making an offer
- Ensure new hire background checks and credentials are in compliance with company policies
- Process new hires through the onboarding process
- Track and process internal job changes
6. HRIS System Assistance
- Assist with accuracy and maintenance of information in the HRIS system including but not limited to employment status changes, benefits deductions
7. Code of Ethics

- Perform any other duties as requested by your supervisor.
EDUCATION: High School diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the HR field
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Etc. – SHRM-CP certification preferred but not required
