Scientific Drilling International is accepting online applications for the position of Human Resources Generalist at our Corporate Headquarters in The Woodlands, TX.

Summary:

The HR Generalist occupies a critical position within the organization, acting as a bridge between management and employees. Their role entails offering expert advice and guidance on a range of HR matters, including employee relations, recruitment, and compliance. Serving as a trusted advisor to managers, they drive initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational effectiveness. With their deep understanding of HR best practices and effective communication skills, they contribute significantly to fostering a positive work environment and advancing the company's strategic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers on Human Resources matters, fostering positive work relationships, morale, and retention.
  • Provide guidance on various HR-related issues such as employee management, progressive discipline, and performance management.
  • Recommend and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance department efficiency and service delivery.
  • Handle complex employee relations issues, conduct internal HR investigations, and provide solutions and coaching to ensure resolution.
  • Manage all employee leave of absence claims while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefit programs, including health and welfare plans.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in applicable state and federal employment laws, ensuring compliance with regulations such as EEOC, ADA, and FMLA.
  • Manage Workers Compensation and unemployment claims effectively.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and HR trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Identify and implement effective recruitment strategies aligned with individual roles and company objectives.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, from needs identification to candidate selection and employment offers.
  • Conduct thorough exit interviews, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve retention.
  • Engage with managers as needed to facilitate smooth employee onboarding, separations, and management transitions.
  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality with all proprietary and sensitive information.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and practice in all HR functional areas, including Employee Relations, Benefits, Compensation, Policy Administration, and Recruiting.
  • Proficient in writing letters, policies, and programs with clarity and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and adherence to structured HR processes.
  • Provide professional HR support and advice to managers, promoting high levels of engagement and performance.
  • Ability to think innovatively and provide creative solutions, maintaining a proactive HR approach.
  • Proficiency in maintaining HR data in HRIS (UKG) and understanding compliance issues with key labor and employment laws.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with strong attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Tactful and skilled in resolving disputes and personnel conflicts.
  • Ability to interact effectively with management staff and coworkers.

Education, Experience, Certification, and Training:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field; equivalent HR work experience considered.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in human resources.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HR systems, including HRIS and ATS. Experience with UKG is a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships within the business.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM certification preferred.
  • Experience in oil field service or manufacturing environments is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Four days per week in-office required.
  • May require domestic travel, up to 10%.
