Human Resources Generalist I

The Human Resources Generalist I performs HR related responsibilities at the tactical and professional level and will carry out duties in employee relations, training, benefits, compensation, recruitment/selection, development, and implementation of policies and procedures in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the company.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with the implementation of human resources initiatives and programs by providing services in the following functional areas: Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, departmental development, and recruitment
  • Supports the HR Team with day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Administers the processing and administration of LOA’s
  • Conducts new-employee orientation and coordinates timely requisition of equipment and access
  • Reviews employee time records for discrepancies and works with supervisors and managers to ensure timely and accurate updating of time records
  • Performs meal and rest break audits for California law compliance, processing penalty pay and tracking of progressive disciplinary actions
  • Assists with the handling employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing for non-exempt team members
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Provides training for new and current employees on department systems and procedures
  • Participates in the coordination of special company events

Education

  • Minimum Required: 
    • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related field
  • Preferred: 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related field
