SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties including talent acquisition, employee relations, process and procedure development, and HR project support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform full-cycle recruitment activities including job descriptions creation/updating, sourcing, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting phone screens, and hosting new employee orientation
Initiate pre-employment background check, drug screening, and Form I-9 verifications
Participate in employee engagement initiatives
Handles employee relations, including building relationships with all levels within the organization, handling investigations, and managing FMLA/CFRA leaves
Coordinate with Payroll and site managers regarding timesheet administration and payroll activities
Performs onboarding and orientation
Maintains employee files and documentation
Supports site managers and supervisors with performance evaluations and personnel reviews
Ensures and monitors compliance to California and Federal requirements regarding personnel actions
Provides project support for various HR projects and initiatives
Assists in creating and maintaining plant HR metrics
Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum 3 years in a Human Resources Generalist
Previous HR experience within the manufacturing, aerospace, or defense industries
Hands-on experience in full life cycle recruiting of a wide range of positions, including nonexempt hourly positions to senior-level executive positions
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas as well as summarize complex issues
Strong knowledge of California HR Employment Law including but not limited to Benefits (COBRA), FMLA, EEO, ADA, Wage & Hour (FLSA), Workers Compensation, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA)
Must possess a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, tact, and attention to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual Spanish – Strongly preferred
Previous HR experience with Washington State HR and Employment Law
