Human Resources Manager 

Location: Pittsburgh (Plum), PA

With 7 to 10+ years of HR experience, you will lead and enhance our HR strategies to ensure operational excellence and organizational development. Your expertise in people and performance management expertise will foster a supportive workplace, enabling our team to thrive in an evolving business environment. 

Role Summary: As a Human Resources Manager, you will align various HR functions with our company goals and objectives. You will play a key role in managing our people-related activities, including hiring, employee relations, performance management, and compliance, directly impacting our workforce's development and retention, and ultimately, our business success. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic HR Leadership: 

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the overall business strategy. 

  • Advise senior management on strategic HR issues and provide insights for organizational planning. 

Talent Acquisition and Development: 

  • Lead the recruitment processes to attract and hire top talent. 

  • Design and implement comprehensive training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth. 

  • Champion employee engagement and retention initiatives, ensuring a motivated and productive workforce. 

Performance Management: 

  • Develop and manage a robust performance appraisal system that drives high performance and fosters regular communication. 

  • Monitor and address employee performance issues, providing coaching, guidance, and support to ensure continuous improvement. 

Compliance and Policy Management: 

  • Ensure legal compliance in all aspects of human resource management. 

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to maintain efficient operations and compliance with labor laws. 

Employee Relations and Culture: 

  • Cultivate a positive working environment and promote a strong, inclusive company culture. 

  • Handle employee relations issues with sensitivity and ensure effective resolution of conflicts. 

  • Implement strategies to enhance workplace diversity and inclusion. 

Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs. 

  • Regularly analyze compensation policies and make recommendations to ensure equity and competitiveness. 

HR Metrics and Reporting: 

  • Develop and track HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and programs. 

  • Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management on HR-related metrics and issues. 

Functional Responsibilities: 

  • Benefits Administration: Respond to employee inquiries about benefit plans; ensure timely submission of government and other forms. 

  • HR Policy: Update policies as the company evolves; collaborate with insurance carriers and brokers; maintain the HR Handbook. 

  • Onboarding/Exit Administration: Oversee the onboarding process for new employees and conduct exit interviews for departing employees. 

  • Employee Communications: Provide guidance to employees on performance and career development issues. 

  • Significant Issues Intervention/Decisions: Address significant employee issues such as discrimination, harassment, termination, and reporting relationships. 

  • Safety and Other Committees: Participate in safety and other employee committees as needed. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Proven HR professional or in a similar HR leadership role with 7-10+ years of experience specializing in people management functions. 

  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations. 

  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Relevant education and qualifications such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.
