Description

  

Nuwellis, Inc. is a medical device company dedicated to transforming the lives of patients suffering from fluid overload with its Aquadex SmartFlow ultrafiltration therapy.


This is an HR department of one responsible for all aspects of HR. Experience in a similar role is required.


This is an onsite position, requiring a full-time in-person presence at Nuwellis' corporate office in Eden Prairie, MN.


Key Responsibilities:

HRIS Management:

  • Oversee and maintain the HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy and security.
  • Manage system updates, integrations, and enhancements in line with business needs.
  • Train HR & payroll team members and employees on HRIS usage and system functionalities.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports to inform decision-making and strategic planning.

Benefits Administration:

  • Manage the organization’s employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans (401(k)), and paid time off plans.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding benefits.
  • Work closely with brokers and vendors to negotiate plans and ensure competitive offerings.

Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract top talent across various levels of the organization.
  • Partner with department leaders to understand staffing needs and ensure successful hires.
  • Promote the company’s employer brand and culture throughout the recruitment process.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and conflict resolution.
  • Mediate disputes and work to resolve employee relations issues while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Promote employee engagement and contribute to developing initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Advise management on employee performance issues and compliance with labor laws.
  • Conduct and manage investigation of complaints and concerns, involve appropriate individuals and facilitate appropriate       action based on policy and practice.

Compensation:

  • Administer and manage compensation programs, including salary reviews, job evaluations, and pay equity.
  • Assist in the development and execution of compensation strategies that align with company goals.
  • Conduct market research to ensure competitive and fair compensation offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and company policies.

Compliance:

  • Ensure the organization adheres to all local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, and other relevant labor laws).
  • Maintain and update HR policies and procedures in accordance with changes to employment law and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
  • Provides guidance and direction to employees and managers application and adherence to policies and procedures and consults with managers with regards to personnel-related matters 
  • Act as a key resource for legal compliance, advising management on employee-related legal issues and mitigating potential risks.
  1. Employee Engagement:
    • Foster a culture of engagement by implementing initiatives that encourage employee participation, recognition, and feedback.
    • Work with leadership to develop programs aimed at increasing morale, productivity, and retention.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time, on-site position.

Compensation $95,000-$105,000. We offer excellent benefits including medical, dental and voluntary life insurance. HSA and dependent care FSA. Company paid life insurance, short and long term disability. 

Requirements

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field (HR certification preferred). 
  • 7+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on HRIS, benefits, recruiting, employee relations, and compensation.
  • Strong understanding of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (i.e. Paylocity preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and HR software tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.
  • SHRM-CP, SCP, PHR or SPHR certification.

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Medical Device industry experience  a plus.
