We are seeking an experienced HR Manager and Business Partner who has a proven track record of driving HR strategy, change management and leadership development for our Durham locations.  Reporting to the Sr. Director of Human Resources, this role will serve as a strategic HR leader, driving organizational growth, employee engagement, and talent strategies in alignment with global business objectives. Based out of North Carolina, the individual will collaborate with local leadership teams to ensure a cohesive and high-performing workforce across two locations.  The position allows for remote work as needed up to 2 days per week.

Essential Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute local HR strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives and the specific needs of the business.
    • Partner with General Managers and leadership teams to provide strategic guidance on employee relations, workforce planning, and succession management.
    • Lead site implementation of global HR initiatives while tailoring solutions to meet local market needs.
    • Operate as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leaders on talent, culture, and organizational dynamics.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
    • Provide guidance on HR policies, compliance, and best practices.
    • Champion organizational change initiatives, ensuring alignment with company values and strategic goals.
    • Mitigate risks and lead resolution of complex employee relations issues with a fair and balanced approach.
    • Partner with leadership to implement strategies that address diverse talent pipelines and equitable opportunities for career advancement.
    • Develop and execute strategies to enhance employee satisfaction and reduce turnover across the NC locations.
    • Facilitate workshops and leadership training 

Additional Responsibilities:

    • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Preferred Qualifications - Education/Experience:

    • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 8 years in a business partner role  
    • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Human Resources Management or equivalent in training & experience 
    • Strong change management and organizational change skills resulting in improved employee engagement
    • Capable of making decisions within guidelines and policies
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools required
    • Strong analytic, written, and verbal skills
    • Experience working in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CRO/CMO, or similar organization

Minimum Preferred Qualifications - Skills:

    • In-depth understanding of all HR disciplines, including state and federal employment related laws, regulations, and requirements; ability to apply that knowledge in business situations
    • Ability to achieve results and function independently in a fast-paced environment; ability to self-motivate with strong work ethic
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate concepts to multiple audiences
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of management and employees; ability to gain credibility, provide effective customer service, and foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve performance goals, be adaptable to various competing demands, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to collaborate closely and keep running line of communication with other members of human resources team
    • Excellent attention to detail; ability to work accurately and to identify, analyze, prevent, and solve problems
    • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Preferred Credentials:

    • Master’s degree or HR certifications such as SPHR/SHRM-SCP preferred

Working Environment:

    • Primarily office (i.e., blend of office and work-from-home)
    • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands:

    • Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for up to eight (8) hours per day.
    • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate office equipment.
    • Occasional mobility needed.
    • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
    • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moving) objects, including files, office supplies, luggage, and laptop computer, with a maximum lift of 20 pounds.
    • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software.
    • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    • Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups.
    • Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals; requires multiple periods of intense concentration.
    • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
    • Ability to perform under stress and multi-task.
    • Regular and consistent attendance

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

    • This is a full-time position.
    • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours as published in the BioAgilytix Employee Handbook
    • Occasional weekend, holiday, and evening work required.
    • Expectations is on-site 3-4 days per week at our North Carolina locations
