SUMMARY

Responsible for various human resources functions including but not limited to: Employment Law Compliance, Performance Management, Associate Relations, Strategic Planning, and Training & Development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Provides a high level of service directly to organization associates.
  • Interfaces regularly with organization leaders to support effective workforce management practices and strategies.
  • Assists with recruitment and retention plans and initiatives to meet organizational goals.
  • Identifies programs and reinforces employment practices to position the organization as an employer of choice.
  • Enhances associate engagement by developing and implementing activities to encourage effective performance, engagement, and commitment among associates.
  • Develops, tracks and reports on metrics to leaders for the purposes of informed decision making regarding workforce management.
  • Develops on-boarding and retention strategies for areas of responsibility.
  • Uses human resources planning models to identify competency and skills gaps.
  • Introduces and coordinates ongoing training at various levels to support the organization’s mission, increase levels of staff performance and foster efficient associate relations.
  • Conducts associate investigation as needed.
  • Executes department strategic and operational goals.
  • Assists with the planning, development, implementation, budgeting, and support of department functions.
  • Provides guidance, coaching and direction to associates at all levels in accordance with the organization’s policies, standards, and practices to ensure fair, consistent and effective operations.
  • Conducts audits to ensure compliance with all required employment laws including FMLA, Workers Compensation, ADA and FLSA.
  • Complies with Corporate Compliance Program and Privacy/Security Programs.
  • Assists with Annual Open Enrollment in conjunction with and under the leadership of the benefits department. 
  • Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
  • Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state and other labor/employment laws.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, leaders, peers and customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

·Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with two (2) years’ experience

·Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with five (5) years’ experience

  • High school diploma and 12 years’ experience
  • Workday (HRIS) experience preferred
  • PHR, SPHR,  SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format.  The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
