The City of Albany is excited to announce an opportunity to shape the future of our growing Human Resources Department. Following recent approval from the Albany City Council to expand HR staffing, we are seeking a forward-thinking Human Resources Manager to lead daily operations, drive innovation, and champion service excellence across the City.
In this newly budgeted role, you’ll work under the general direction of the Human Resources Director to oversee key HR functions including recruitment and retention, benefits, leave administration, training and development, classification and compensation, workforce planning, and more. You'll be instrumental in coaching and supporting a team of HR professionals, enhancing department capacity, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Administrative Duties
This is a supervisory position. Individuals in this classification are responsible for supervising assigned employees which includes scheduling and assigning work; mentoring, coaching, and training; developing work plans and reviewing work for completion; evaluating performance and providing necessary feedback to employee; setting work standards; imposing or effectively recommending necessary disciplinary action; responding to grievances; and making or effectively recommending hiring and termination decisions.
