We are seeking a highly experienced HR professional who can strengthen our operations and support our leadership team during an important period of growth and transition.

Position Overview

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the daily oversight of HR operations, including employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, performance management, and benefits support. This role serves as a strategic partner and advisor to senior leadership and works closely with the C-Suite to drive organizational initiatives and ensure consistency across all HR functions.

This position is fully on-site, Monday through Friday at our Overland Park headquarters. Due to the high level of interaction required with leadership and employees, remote and hybrid arrangements are not available. This position reports directly to the C-Suite and collaborates frequently with the CEO, President/COO, CFO, and CIO.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees and leaders regarding HR policies, performance concerns, and workplace issues.
     
  • Conduct investigations and provide sound, compliant recommendations to leadership.
     
  • Support a positive, consistent culture across all GCI departments and locations.
     

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for key roles.
     
  • Lead the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and welcoming start for new hires.
     

Compliance & HR Operations

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local labor laws (FLSA, ADA, EEOC, FMLA, etc.).
     
  • Ensure HR documentation, personnel files, and HRIS data are accurate and up to date.
     
  • Support benefits administration and annual open enrollment.
     

Performance & Talent Management

  • Coach managers on performance issues, corrective action, and development planning.
     
  • Partner with the C-Suite on organizational planning and workforce strategy.
     

Payroll & Benefits Coordination

  • Collaborate with the payroll team on employee changes, deductions, and data accuracy.
     
  • Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries.
     

Project & Process Leadership

  • Lead or support HR projects, policy updates, handbooks, and process improvements.
     
  • Provide recommendations to the C-Suite on structure, staffing, and operational efficiencies.
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a management or senior generalist capacity.
     
  • HR certification required (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
     
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
     
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leadership or C-Suite executives.
     
  • Exceptional communication, judgment, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills.
     
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and the ability to manage competing priorities.
     
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Paylocity experience preferred).
     
  • Must be able to work on-site daily at our Overland Park, KS office.
