Position Summary:

This position's primary responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, communications and training. They will be knowledgeable in and able to assist with all aspects of human resources including benefits, training and development, onboarding, retention, and employee engagement. Individual must be knowledgeable in laws and regulations related to FLSA, FMLA, ERISA and DHS to ensure company and employee compliance.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads and coordinates all recruitment efforts; manages postings/advertising, establishes and fosters relationships with various applicant sources, including agencies, and educational institutions; coordinates and conducts interviews, manages the hiring process from applicant to new hire status
  • Manages employee appreciation and reward programs; ensure programs are communicated to all employees with education, training, postings, emails, and alerts through HRIS and reward system. Promotes and coaches managers on utilizing programs effectively
  • Coordinates onboarding; prepares for and participates in new hire orientation; ensures current company communications for new hires; utilizes various forms of media such as videos, Prezi and PowerPoint presentations to communicate our culture, history, policies, procedures and philosophies. Instructs new hires in completion of paperwork. Visually reviews documents for accuracy and ensures compliance with local, state and federal employment regulations
  • Counsels and/or disciplines employees as needed, through clear, calm and direct verbal and written communication, in accordance with the established company guidelines. Conducts investigations in a thorough manner to ensure final actions are based on accurate information, and company policy is adhered to in disciplinary/termination decisions
  • Supports other departments in duties including but not limited to event assistance, general office management, and provide support as needed for various company activities

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performing the primary functions, other supportive duties and responsibilities may include the following:

  • Use all appropriate office/business machines to effectively perform job requirements
  • Communicate necessary information utilizing electronic mail, iSolved HRIS, Bucketlist rewards program, hard copy memorandum distribution, and/or other methods to most effectively distribute necessary information related to the employment function.

Other:

Regular attendance, as determined by Harristown, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Due to business needs, this position may be required to work varying schedules, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays to reflect business needs on occasion.

Compliance with Harristown rules and regulations is a condition of employment for the safe and efficient operation of facilities.

Due to the highly confidential nature of the human resource function, the ability to keep all aspects of employee and business-related information in the strictest of confidence is an essential job requirement.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

The individual must have the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the primary functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Thorough knowledge of employment law and employee rights
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills required
  • Ability to read and speak the English language fluently
  • Ability to effectively deal with employees and applicants, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work under strict deadlines
  • Skill in problem solving and action plan formulation

Qualifications Requirements:

Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A four-year college degree preferred

Experience: 2-4 years of Human Resource experience required.

Licenses or Certificates: PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred

Other: Additional language ability preferred.
