We are seeking a flexible, adaptive Human Resources Manager to provide strategic as well as hands-on support for the Human Resources team and company. In this position you will be responsible for managing, implementing and overseeing human resources policies and activities such as employment, payroll, benefits, employee relations and communications for the organization. This role will be based in our Fort Worth, Texas office working on a hybrid work model.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
- Manages the payroll functions for bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls including preparation and submission of tax payments, reporting and maintaining payroll control records.
- Manages compliance with COBRA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Worker’s Compensation, EEOC, and any other areas of compliance as dictated by the federal, state or city levels.
- Manages benefit offerings provided to employees.
- Implements, directs and administers various human resource platforms as required.
- Manages open enrollment process.
- Manages 1 to 2 direct reports.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of staff, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Researches, analyzes data and prepares analytic reports for HR management needs.
- Contributes to the development of program policies and procedures through research and review and makes recommendations to HR management.
- Provides advice and counsel to department heads, managers and employees regarding payroll and benefits.
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field and four years of human resource experience; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
- Expertise with ADP WorkforceNow platform highly desired
- 5 years experience working with multi-state payroll processing required
- Work history reflecting extensive knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local payroll tax regulations and employment laws as they apply to payroll, benefits and compliance
- Practical experience in managing and maintaining positive relationships between employees and the company, including handling employee concerns, resolving conflicts, investigating complaints, advising management on employment policies, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, all while fostering a healthy workplace culture; essentially, demonstrating a proven ability to navigate sensitive employee issues and maintain a positive work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations. Multi state highly desired
- Ability to compose and present comprehensive information as it relates to human resources
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Travel Requirements:
- Infrequent travel may be required to attend company events (up to 2 trips per year).
- Travel will be domestic.
Type/Nature of Contacts:
- External: Frequent contact with vendors and benefit related carriers.
- Internal: Daily contact with Virtuoso employees.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Irregular breaks or irregular work hours during budget cycle and year end.
