Provides general expertise to management on all areas of HR, or may be responsible for select functions within HR including employment, planning, and development. May also be responsible for training and new employee orientation. Duties may include promotion of good employee relations, development of training, safety, and health programs.

Position Summary

The HR Manager is a strategic and hands‑on partner responsible for strengthening M&M’s employee experience, driving a fair and inclusive culture, and proactively supporting organizational growth. This role prioritizes employee relations, talent development, and workforce planning, ensuring that people strategies align with business needs in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary advisor to leaders and employees on all employee relations matters with a commitment to fairness, respect, and consistency.
  • Lead and conduct investigations, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance on corrective action to reinforce M&M’s values and performance standards.
  • Promote a positive and engaging work environment by fostering two‑way communication, addressing workplace concerns, and building trust across all levels.
  • Use trends, data, and insights to identify themes and proactively address issues before they escalate.
     

Talent Development & Leadership Capability

  • Partner with leadership to assess talent needs, identify skill gaps, and support career development pathways, including high‑potential employee development and frontline leader capability.
  • Support or lead initiatives related to training, skill development, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Facilitate performance management processes to ensure clarity of expectations, effective feedback, and employee growth.
     

Workforce Planning & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Collaborate with leaders to forecast workforce needs, assess future talent requirements, and build staffing strategies.
  • Analyze workforce trends such as turnover, skills shortages, and pipeline risk to proactively shape people strategies.
  • Support organizational design, restructuring, and scaling plans as business needs evolve.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Support recruitment efforts, onboarding, and the development of a strong employer brand to attract top talent.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across HR processes, tools, and programs.
  • Use workforce insights to elevate safety awareness, identify trends and partner with leaders to implement targeted actions that improve engagement and reduce risk.
  • Oversee leave of absence and workers’ compensation administration, ensuring compliance, timely case management, and strong coordination with leaders and safety teams.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related experience.
  • Bilingual – Burmese or Spanish
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably supporting manufacturing, distribution, or industrial teams.
  • Strong experience with employee relations, coaching leaders, and navigating workplace issues.
  • Proven ability to develop talent, influence leaders, and drive change effectively.
  • Strong data literacy with the ability to analyze workforce insights and make data‑driven recommendations.
  • Interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with workforce planning in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday or ADP e-time.
