Hartson-Kennedy Inc. is a manufacturer and fabricator of laminate countertops. We offer a rewarding opportunity for a Human Resource Manager at our corporate offices and manufacturing facility located in Marion, IN.

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing HR direction for the organization with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, employee benefits, and oversight of the strategic execution of objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment
    • Works with hiring managers to identify personnel needs, workforce planning strategies, and search assignments.
    • Leads sourcing, screening, interviewing activities as well as recommending prospective employees for employment at all levels within the Company.
    • Coordinates internal and external recruitment processes, including the identification of candidate sources, placement of advertisements, internal/external job postings, and scheduling of interviews.
    • Negotiates and prepares job offers for candidates.
    • Monitors activities and maintains accurate documentation on all candidates, searches, and other recruiting activities to ensure compliance with government regulations.
    • Monitors and evaluates KPIs such as time to fill, costs vs budget.
  • Employee Relations
    • Counsels and coaches supervisors and managers as needed on areas such as employee engagement, communications, performance, disciplinary action, etc.
    • Plans and conducts new employee orientation.
    • Provides guidance and direction to employees at all levels of the company regarding Company policies and procedures and general employee issues.
    • Assists in developing and delivering human resources communications as needed.
    • Assists in employee performance management
  • Benefits Administration
    • Responds to all employee and retiree benefit inquiries. Facilitates resolution of issues and problems.
    • Assists with the day-to-day administration of health, dental, wealth, life and ancillary benefit programs, activities and projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in human resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills with the ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee multiple projects and initiatives.
  • A proficient understanding and application of Federal, State laws, such as, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, COBRA.
