Plans, and directs the work of the Workers' Compensation Division for the Department of Human Resources; represents County or department in substantive deliberations on human resources matters of county wide concern and/or supervises the work of professional staff; and performs other related duties as required.
There is one (1) immediate temporary full-time vacancy not-to-exceed 11/15/2027 with the Department of Human Resources - Worker's Compensation Division in Hilo.
The eligible list may be used for other permanent and temporary vacancies as they arise during the life of the list. Temporary appointment may lead to conversion to permanent appointment.

Knowledge of: principles and practices of supervision; basic principles relating to organization and management; business writing; report writing; research and statistical method and techniques; various kinds of occupations and the sources of occupational information; principles, methodology, techniques, laws, and regulations applicable to the human resources specialty area involved; trends and developments in human resource management, public employment, and the human resources specialty area involved.
Ability to: plan, supervise, and review the work of others; apply the principles, methods, and techniques of human resources and the functional area; develop and implement clear and succinct written policies and procedures; learn and become knowledgeable about public administration, governmental organization and functions, the merit principle and the merit system and philosophy, and departmental policies and procedures; interpret and apply pertinent laws and regulations; conduct research and make sound evaluations, conclusions, and recommendations; prepare clear and concise reports; prepare clear and concise written communications; express ideas logically, both orally and in writing; promote human resources programs and services; analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions; establish effective relationships with County employees, officials, employees from other government agencies, union representatives, and the public; give and follow oral and written instructions.
