Job Overview

A leading global manufacturer and distributor is seeking a skilled HR Manager to lead human resources operations in California. This role focuses on developing HR strategies, enhancing workplace culture, ensuring compliance with California labor laws, and aligning HR initiatives with organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and management, addressing workplace concerns and resolving conflicts.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment through engagement programs and recognition initiatives.

  • Promote open communication and build strong relationships across the organization.

HR Compliance & Legal

  • Maintain full compliance with California labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, leaves of absence, and workplace safety standards.

  • Ensure accurate employee record-keeping and prepare for audits or regulatory reporting.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new hires.

  • Partner with department managers to identify staffing needs and implement hiring strategies to attract top talent.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.

  • Work closely with the finance team to manage payroll processes and maintain competitive compensation practices.

Performance Management & Development

  • Administer performance reviews and provide resources to managers for effective evaluations.

  • Develop training programs to support career development, leadership growth, and compliance requirements.

HR Strategy & Planning

  • Design and implement HR policies and programs that align with the company's objectives.

  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on workforce planning and organizational development initiatives.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, including Cal/OSHA standards.

  • Lead initiatives focused on employee well-being and work-life balance.




Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5โ€“7 years of HR experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.

  • Expertise in California labor laws and employment regulations.

  • HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) are a strong advantage.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems such as Paychex, BambooHR, ADP, or Workday.
