Line HR Generalist- Sr.

We are seeking a versatile, proactive, and senior-level HR Generalist to lead human resources business processes for our Cookeville, TN site. This role serves as a key point of contact for HR functions within our facility, balancing daily tactical execution with the complexities of a unionized workforce. The successful candidate will lead the improvement and deployment of HR processes while maintaining stable labor relations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.  This is a 100% on-site role. 



Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partnership: Partner with managers and employees to resolve issues and concerns.
  • Employee Relations & Coaching: Resolve conflicts and provide coaching and counseling on human resources matters; conduct and document investigations for business or corporate functional areas.
  • Talent Management: Provide staffing and recruiting support, including support for the site interview process and conducting New Hire Orientations (Exempt, Office, and Shop).
  • Performance & Development: Lead performance management activities, including employee development planning.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Facilitate compensation processes and benefits administration by partnering with shared services; develop and implement workforce compensation recommendations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and adherence to human resources policies and procedures.
  • Data & Systems: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of workforce information in HRIS (Oracle HCM, AskMe, Etime) and analyze HR process metrics to recommend improvements.
  • Operations Support: Help employees resolve issues regarding FMLA, STD, LTD, and Educational Assistance applications.
  • Leadership: Coach and mentor less experienced human resources generalists and lead specific process improvement initiatives.
     


Qualifications

Education

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.

 

Experience

  • Experience (Unionized Environment): 3–5 years of HR experience if you have a background in a unionized environment.
  • Experience (Non-Union): 10 years of HR experience if you do not have direct union experience.
  • Foundational Knowledge: A solid foundation as an HR Generalist is required, with a preference for candidates from mid-to-large sized companies.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to participate in or lead labor agreement discussions.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is highly preferred.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

     

 

 

Base salary range: $88,733 - $133,099
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. 
 

Compensation and Benefits 
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, other personal and professional benefits.
