We are seeking an investigations manager with a passion for employee relations and conducting robust investigations in a dynamic environment who appreciates the important role employee relations professionals play in supporting our values and culture and will carry out duties with the highest integrity. 

The Manager of Employee Relations Investigations is a key leadership role within the People Matters team. The role supervises a team of investigators responsible for investigating alleged violations of company policy at our manufacturing facilities, including the anti-harassment and non-discrimination policies, along with related retaliation claims. 

This position is a hybrid role based in Dearborn, MI. The role supports a team of investigators who cover multiple manufacturing sites in Michigan and Buffalo, NY. This role requires the manager to be in the plant at least four days per week, for various shifts. Some travel may be required. 



Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Managing investigator caseload
  • Determining trends using qualitative and quantitative data and reporting those trends to leadership and key stakeholders
  • Providing case updates to leadership, plant Labor/HR, union leadership, etc. 
  • Determining consistent and proper disciplinary action along with other stakeholders
  • Conducting investigations
  • Managing a team of investigators, to include training, guidance, and performance management 
  • Building and maintaining relationships with plant staff and Union representatives. 
  • Leading/supporting projects as needed
  • Finding efficiencies within the investigation process
  • Working cross functionally within the broader team to assist with areas of need
  • Reviewing investigations for thoroughness and quality
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable standards, including company policy and the collective bargaining agreement


Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of HR investigative experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team 

     

Even better, you may have...

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing and/or complex multi facility environment
  • Prior experience specifically conducting EEO/harassment or other investigations
  • Prior experience working with a unionized workforce
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and matrixed work environment
  • JD or Master's degree in a Human Resource related field
  • HR generalist and/or Labor specialist experience
  • Experience working in a complex global company
  • Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors and integrity combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and oral /written communication skills

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.     

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
