Job Summary

This is an onsite position reporting to the Houston office daily. The Office Manager/HR Generalist runs the daily functions of the Office while managing onboarding new staff and other human resource duties in conjunction with sustaining a safe, organized, and efficient office environment. This dual role serves as a key point of contact for employee questions, benefits administration, recruitment, safety compliance (OSHA/Workers' Compensation), and office operations, utilizing Workday for HRIS, payroll, and recruitment tracking.

Key Responsibilities

Office Management & Operations

  • Office Operations: Ensure the office environment is productive and safe, managing vendor relationships and facility maintenance.
  • Hybrid Support: Manage hybrid scheduling, workstation booking, and collaboration tools, supporting both remote and in-office employees.
  • System Administrator: Act as the internal expert for [Workday], ensuring data integrity and generating reports.

Health, Safety, & Compliance

  • Safety Administration: Oversee OSHA compliance, maintain OSHA logs, and manage Workers' Compensation claims.
  • Risk Management: Develop safety protocols, conduct incident investigations, and manage facility emergency preparedness. Manage the ISN platform.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, and FLSA. Maintain up-to-date company policies and employment documentation.

HR Generalist & Talent Acquisition

  • Onboarding/Offboarding: Coordinate the full employee lifecycle, including new hire paperwork, Workday profile creation, IT setup, and offboarding procedures.
  • Recruitment: Manage job postings, initial screenings, and interview scheduling, collaborating with managers on hiring needs.
  • Benefits & Employee Files: Administer benefits enrollment (health, 401k) in Workday. Create and maintain employee files.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, addressing employee relations matters and maintaining personnel files.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–5 years of progressive experience as an Office manger and HR administration, including direct experience with employee safety/OSHA.
  • Technology: Proficient in Workday (preferred) or similar HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Peoplesoft).
  • Compliance: Knowledge of OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation claim processes.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, strong organizational abilities, and discretion in handling confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or Business Administration.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
